I'm looking to get a shorty barrel for my 870 and was just wondering your guy's opinion on factory Remington vs Dlask barrels. Any pros and cons or other information would be greatly appreciated before I drop some coin on a new barrel.

Thanks!

If you can find a factory Remington, go that route. Dlask barrels are twice as thick and therefore twice as heavy. I have had a couple of Dlask's over the years, and there is nothing wrong with them, but they are sometimes a tight fit, and occasionally you need to relieve your forend because some forends will bind a bit

one thing i would take into consideration is the use of the gun. sometimes heavy is good if shooting slugs to tame recoil .the dlask barrels have a high front sight were it is a little harder to find a factory Remington barrel so equipped .

Think I asked the same question quite awhile ago. Now own 3x Remington 14" and two Dlask's (12 & 14).

Honestly, the Remington's are just fine. Have no problem with the quality or accuracy. Really like the XS Big Dot on the Remington's. Thinking of getting one threaded.

The Dlask's are better quality but a little thicker as noted above. I don't mind the extra weight, at least it's not the NEA really heavy weight (have one of those as well... it's HEAVY and JUST fits in receiver). I like Dlask's tall front sight, works well.

I guess the problem is the Remington 14" are going for high rates now on the E&E it seems. For the amount some are charging might as well go for the Dlask if the little extra weight is cool with you.
