DM Bottom metal for Savage 10TR

I, like many others, have recently acquired a Savage 10TR.

I have already purchased a HS precision stock, mounted a scope etc.

I have a bedding kit so I can bed the HS stock to the rifle.

I'm thinking that I want a different DM than what came with the rifle.

I already have a Ruger scout rifle with 4 mags, 2-5 rndrs and 2-10 rndrs. One of each size has a Ruger logo on the bottom, one of each has a AI logo......

So if one was to purchase new bottom metal for the Savage, what kind of bottom metal would that be (to utilize the Ruger/AI mags)?

CDI .... You might need to get it inletted.

PM Mystic .... I believe they carry the CDI BM

yes the stock will have to be inletted for the CDI bottom metal. The foot print is the same as the factory bottom metal it just has to be inletted deeper into the stock.

I have a CDI going into my Savage HS stock, it's at TacOrd as we speak. Got it off Jerry at Mystic Precision.

I'm a big fan of CDI for what it's worth. There are cheaper options that work well to my understanding though.

Got a CDI BDM in my Savage and it works great. You will need to inlet your stock as others have already stated.

+ 1 for the CDI from Mystic. I have one on my Rem 700 5R and it works great and was reasonably priced. There are other cheaper ones but they didn't have anything to use for .223. The CDI uses AI mags and for me it has worked out real well. Inletting was required on the Choate Custom Tactical stock I put it into.
