DM Optics - Eotech/Aimpoint Magnifiers

Is anyone bringing these into Canada yet? I was shopping around for a magnifier for my Eotech and there were not a lot of options.

Up until now most magnifiers were either $600+ or they were trashy airsoft replicas. DM claimed they wanted to fill the niche market in between by providing reliable flip to side magnifiers in the $299-$399 range.

DM Premium Optics start with a 6010 aluminum housing with a non reflective hard anodized black finish. Magnification is accomplished using optic quality coated lenses resulting in the highest light transmission possible. These lenses have up to 20 coatings per lens depending on location in the magnifier. The final assembly uses a rubber eye relief installed and then the unit is fully sealed and nitrogen filled to eliminate fogging. These features insure a high quality magnifier for a lifetime of use.

DM Premium Optics created both a windage and elevation adjustable mounting platform that incorporates the Samson Manufacturing Quickflip assemble to bring the ultimate mount for any 30mm accessory. This mount allows the user to perfectly position any 30mm accessory and have the capability of removing that accessory from your line of sight with the push of a button. Constructed from 6061 billet aluminum with a non reflective black anodized finish.

I am rather interested, assuming these are not junk, especially since Eotech discontinued their more affordable magnifiers and replaced them with the G23 magnifier which is almost $700.

mr_trout are you kidding me! I have had 1 on the ee for almost 3 weeks now. Except mine is a 4x instead of the 2x or 3x that they market too. I don't even think I would bother bringing them in even if someone asked me too. Now day's unless it cost big $$$ people seem not to care even if the product is top quiality at a reasonable price.
 
I love the Eotech. It's the smartest 1x "red dot" optic out there. The reticle makes it.

However, that particular reticle at 3x.... I don't get. Maybe someone can explain it.


And for $300-$700 there are variable optics out there that probably work better.
Especially for range use.

Does that make sense?

1) at 3x, you're using the centre dot, the circle is there but not relevant.

2) no variable is a true 1x, turning a ring is slower than flipping, the magnifier can be fully removed when you know you're doing something up close (saving weight - some mounts are easier than others in this regard), and the variables have limited eye relief, which can mess you up in certain shooting positions. It all depends on what you're doing with it.

I can't speak to the listed optic, but both the eotech and aimpoint magnifiers have fantastic glass. The only issue is that the center dot, for some people's eyes, may not be round (smeared, "comma" shaped, etc.). If that's you, then you need a standard variable with adjustable eyepiece to accomodate astigmatism and other personal optic defects to do precision shooting.

Yep, that is the last of them clearing out, and at a good price too.

Yea brand name/brand loyalty seems to go a long way (and usually with optics this loyalty is earned). There are a lot of horror stories out there from people who tried to cheap out when it came to their optics, but there are also some good "mid range" success stories. Companies like Falcon menace surprise me with such good performance for such a reasonable price.

I may wait for more reviews of the DM products to trickle in before I look much further. Or I may just jump in on that Eotech 1st gen clear out sale (if there are any left).

Yep that is a great deal from Wolverine.

And I agree a variable optic could be an bit slower than a FTS in combat and competition.

I'm in the process of switching over from a holosight/magnifier setup to a variable red-dot (Millet dms)

My Holosight (a Bushy and EoTech replica - I know I know it's not a fair comparison) I wasn't crazy having to use a FTS optic to get magnification.

So quality wasn't an issue it was form and function.
