Ran a boresnake through and it didn't seem to work too well, it's not a snug fit. Is it just worn out or something? If I get standard .30 cal cleaning tools should they work or will they be a little loose?

I use one and it's good to go. That being said, I have found that a pull through kit with a nice cone shapped or diamond shaped brush works better than the cylinder shaped brush. To really get any #### out of there I occasionally pull a 9mm brush through the CZ.

Also what do you mean "didnt work to well"? is there still #### visibly in your barrel? let some hoppes soak in there. If that doesnt work get copper solvent which will kill everything in there.

A cone shaped brush? never seen one. 'didn't work to well' it did pretty much nothing, wasn't snug fit. I just got into tactical rifles and still have a lot to figure out, i use boresnakes on 12 and 20 shotguns they work great, i'll hafta get some proper tools for my vz58. you can use a 9mm brush? wouldn't that ruin the brush? The solvent I'm using sucks, what products do u use?(cleaner, lube, corrosion protection, etc.)

Are you referring to a bore brush perhaps ? ( cone brush ) - also, how on earth are you stuffing a 9mm brush down your 7.62mm bore :s
- or are you still talking about bore snakes when you refer to "brushes"

.30 cal is what you want for 7.62 - My local shops have been sold out for months of all jags, brushes and mops... I swear the SKS owners ate them all up :(

Yeah the 'brush' is a 9mm pistol brush [nylon not brass] and it screws onto a boresnake like thing. You can also attach swabs etc. Then for my initial run through after i spray atni-corrosion foam [G96 i think] I pull the 9mm brush right through. Its hard but the brush pops right back. Seems like a good brush but i havent found another like it. Really scrapes the gunk out. then I use the conical bore style brush made for .30 cal/7.62 after that. Its just easier to pull through and is brass. I think if i used a 9mm brass brush it would end up being ####ed up but the nylon works well.

Im a fan of hoppes, g96 and proshot 2in1. sometimes copper solvent helps as well.

Theres lots of good solvents, wipeout is a good one for dirty surplus ammo. Especially in a non-chrome bore. It makes the job very easy. I usually run a patch of wipeout accelerator then plug the gas block with paper towel and fill the bore. Let soak over night and swab it all out the next day with a couple patches and youre done. It leaves a good corrosion inhibitor behind so rust will never happen. I use the little bit of wipeout that oozes out the muzzle to clean the rest of the gun. You can lube the rifle with pretty much whatever you want, the steel is very hard and doesn't need much for lube. Your favourite gun oil, grease or even motor oil will work just fine.
