Do deer oink?

I was still hunting today and got to some really thick brush.

Just on the other side I can hear a deep low oink. It was a quick and low snort. I couldn't see through the bush but I assumed it was a pig because there is a farm on the adjacent property.

.........so I walked away from the oink. Got home and did some googling. Some people say spikes may sound like a pig sometimes? I really shouldn't have turned away until I confirmed what I was hearing, but at the same time, i wouldn't of reached it without pushing through some real thick shrubs and branches and spooking it.

For future references, can deer sound like a pig sometimes?
 
What you probably heard was a grunt. I have seen and heard both mature and immature bucks chasing does and often from a bit off it almost sounds like a pig "oink".
Many moons ago, Early one morning, bow hunting I heard what I swore was a pig. Seconds later a doe being chased by a small eight pointer came by and it sounded like the pinkest porker you ever heard. Spend enough time and you will hear them make some of the strangest noises.
 

Well I should have done some more research before going out because it sounded like the snort at 2:33 of this video.

To be it kind of sounds like a pig, but to be fair I havent really been around a lot of pigs either lol well I guess it is a learning experience......
