do glock 21 and glock 21sf use the same mags ?

Yes, they do. Exactly the same mag for both versions of the G21.

Maybe you are thinking of the Gen 4 ambi mags? Any of the G21 mags that i have put into my F21SF work fine.

Some are conventional. Some are (were) full-time ambi, kind of like the XD. They required the cut in the front of the magazine.

All new magazines have all three cuts. Most new pistols don't employ the front cut. The full-time ambi 21SF did.

Mine, which I believe to be a gen 3.5 G21sf, looks like the one on the right. Only a notch on one side plus the silver part. The middle silver part is the part that holds it in my gun. If I'm wrong, correct me, but earlier models I don't believe had the silver part, just the one side tab.
