Do I Have A New Factory Tavor Trigger?

Hey everyone,

Picked up a Tavor from the Calgary Shooting Centre on Feb 24th 2015. I was at the range with it today for the first time. Put about 50 rounds through it, and I'm loving it! I decided that while I was there I'd take out the trigger pack and remove that secondary trigger reset spring that people say isn't needed. Interestingly enough, after taking the trigger out and looking for the secondary spring, it wasn't there! There wasn't even a pin for it attach to!

Is this a new factory trigger for Tavors?

The new factory triggers don't have it. I got one just the other day, made July 2014. Part of the gen 2.5 changes I believe. They also seem to have gone back to a straight firing pin spring instead of the captive tapered one shown in the manual for mine.

That spring located in the centre must be the redesigned reset spring. Mine does not have that.

Yes, that is a Gen 2.5, nothing new here. I was hoping they would start coming with Geissele Super Sabras for the price Tavors retail at....

Have you measured your pull weight? I'd be curious to see how IWI is improving

Not yet, didn't have a gizmo for that.

I will definitely try and get a pull-weight reading for this unit though. It's still a pretty heavy trigger though, I can tell you that right now.

Good to know that this isn't something extremely new and is just coming with the Gen 2.5+ models.
