Do i need a permit to purchase magazines from the states?

I have tried searching the forum for an answer but i couldn't find one. Is it ok to purchase pistol magazines from the states? (of course im going to get 10 round canadian legal ones and not the high capacity). Im going to guess this falls under the same category as purchasing ammunition.

You don't need a permit to purchase magazines from the states. You need a permit to export them.

you need an export permit form the us government.. which is a pain/hassel.. you can pin the high cap ones to 10 rounds and they would then be legal but I would do it before you import it ect..

YOU cannot get an export permit from the US gov't - unless YOU are a licenced US exporter.
YOU cannot go to the US, purchase magazines, and bring them back.
You can purchase them from a licenced US exporter, who will ship them to you. If the value is less than US$100 at wholesale, the licenced US exporter does not need to get an export permit for the order.
You can order magazines from a business like Brownells.
