Do I need ATT!!

If I want to transport the barrel of a restricted to my shop to work on it do I need a ATT?? Say the Upper receiver vs. lower just like to clarify this as I would like to work on parts at the shop. Thanks

If your shop is not at your house or at your range then the answer is yes.

If its just the barrel, no you dont.

It would depend on the firearm.
If it is an AR, the entire upper assembly is just parts, and not subject to controls.

Remember the ONLY part of your AR that is covered by your ATT is the lower.....
The rest of it are just bits and pieces.

Some ATT's will allow you to take it (i.e the lower) to a "gunsmith" as well (mine does), read the wording on yours carefully

Check with your CFO office.

If it's an AR, it's the LOWER receiver that is the registered part of the firearm that needs an ATT even if it's stripped - no parts.

The barrel and upper receiver aren't the registered parts so I don't think you'd need an ATT.

i wouldnt worry if i were you , how far is your shop from your home ? what you cood do is put a lock on whatever your bringing the lower or upper than it can't hurt anyone

Of course if it is the lower and he were to get caught then he would get hurt........
