Do I need to remove the rubber recoil on ACR stock to fit the HERA?

I tried attaching my new ACR stock to the HERA bck and the 2 holes do not line up. If I removed the round rubber recoil pad located where the ACR meets the bck (on the ACR) it would fit. I found only one post on another site regarding this and that person was also wondering the same thing.

I am so close to being done! Help most appreciated.

I removed mine that needed a small roll pin taken out then the rubber buffer comes off.
