I'm currently living in NJ and planning to move back home to Ontario some time next year and my question is if I participated in USPSA in the US (IPSC in Canada) that doesn't require this so called "holster" qualification that it does in Canada, do I still need this holster course when I move back or does my membership in the US show that I am competent enough to participate ?

Thanks,
Ed

On a related note..

1) I passed my BB course here.. So I compete here for a while..
2) Then I move abroad and compete in another country for a few years..
3) Then I come back to Canada...

Would I still need to retake my BB?

iirc, I think you have to shoot one match every x years to maintain a valid black badge. Not sure what the time limit is though.

I was reading the Posts this morning and I see a Holster Course for IPSC is this true ??? You have to take a course to carry the gun around ???

The Black Badge in not a holster course...it teaches the principals and rules of IPSC. The use of a holster is a very small part of the overall course...

In BC, your BB course is invalid after a certain amount of time with different requirements depending on your level of inactivity (4 years of NO competing means you retake your BB course). If you have proof that you've been competing at level 2 or higher matches in other sections or regions, that is sufficient to maintain your qualification.

Note, however that this would not include matches that are loosely based on IPSC/USPSA and therefore not sanctioned matches.
