I would be sooo upset if this happened to me.

Anyone ever experience it first hand ?

"Overload" seems a bit mild for what happened there - give us a few more details, you know, cal, powder, wghts. of each etc., etc. --- John303.

I say just be super careful to use the correct powder.
That looks to me like a charge of Unique that would have been correct for 4895.

I have never witnessed it on a rifle but have seen a few shotguns look like this over the years at the club from snow in the barrel, stuck wad from previous round, etc etc.

I agree looks more like a lodged bullet in the barrel with a follow up shot than a over charged case.

OK.....gonna play devil's advocate here...'cause I simply don't know. What exactly does a fired round that doesn't clear the barrel sound like?
Surely, the ejected brass would indicate something's not right??
why would someone in their right mind:rolleyes:, even try to fire another shot without even the slightest...WTF...."maybe I should stop and think about this"

The wrong powder could do that. H4831 aleady said it - using Unique by mistake in place of a rifle powder would produce results just like that.

"Whaddya mean my 45-70 aint a sniper rifle? I'll show you!"
WEll i'll just have to prove you guys all wrong. well with my "limited understand of ballistics" I'll buy my own reloading equipment and get some 250 grain bullets in .458 and put it to the test. I gaurantee that your all wrong and i'm right.
Well someone on another sight gave me a reloading manual from Barnes with load that is SAFE FOR MARLINS, can push it to 2610FPS. so their's no BIG IF there buddy. I should have no problem. The project will go through. I'm sorry I bruised your ego, but my life will go on. Thanks for the input
Greag,
Only friendly advice......"start low and work up" in your load development; don't load initially to 2600 fps ......here's a Marlin 1895G (not mine):
Then the pic from the OP here
if it's not yours then why are you showing it to me?? How do you know what kind of load was in it. I don't want your advice... you can take your advice and shove it up your *** with the rest of the things you shove up your ***. Your wrong, and i don't care what you say. If you want to post stupid comments on my thread please go somewhere else and knock yourself out. I don't want stupid answers to my questions. It's a waste of time to read it.

A thread from another board.
Haven't heard from him in quite a while.....
