do some of you lefties shoot right hand bolts

i have used both as i am a lefty, but i do feel more natural with a lefthand bolt, i have found by accident that a savage 99 is by far the fastest truck gun for me, i hold it in my left hand by the pistol grip, and put the cartridge in the open action with my right hand close and you are good too go. allthough i dont hunt this way much, its far faster than a bolt, right or left, wade

when i was taught to shoot i never had acces to a left handed bolt gun. i am left eye dominant, but right handed. tried and tried to shoot right handed with very little succes. once i tried left handed i have never felt handicapped. bottom eject pump guns (brownings) are nice but i even shoot my AR with little concern. i sometimes wonder about a stag arms left handed upper.

Some lefties using right-hand-bolts brag about how fast they can cycle the actions, as if it's a big accomplishment.
Yes, it can be done, but so what? Spend the extra $100-150 and buy yourself
a bona-fide LH action, you'll never look back. Cycling is smoother, more enjoyable and in case of a catastrophic case-separation your face will be on the safer side of the action.

I always thought I cold never get used to using a LH bolt after using a right bolt for so long Was I wrong, I felt comfortable the first time I used it.

I've never felt out of place shooting a righty bolt left handed.

I had the chance to try a tikka t3 lh this year and I think I'll stick with my right hand bolts. I'm much more comfortable shooting them.

I'd rather have the better selection of right handed guns as well. Lefty guns are starting to become more plentiful though.

Personally If you haven't shot many bolts your probably going to pick up the lh version quickly. If you are used to right handed bolts then I'd still recomend at least throwing the bolt a couple times on a lefty just to see what it's like.

The only time a right bolt makes sense for a left handed shooter is shooting from a bench or bipod. It’s “sniper style”. You don’t have to take your finger off the trigger to chamber a round and because the gun is supported it stays on target. Some right handed target/sniper shooters like a left bolt for this same reason. Sounds weird but think about it for a second before declaring me a moron.

For field use/hunting why would a leftie even consider a right bolt? All the major manufactures offer a reasonable selection of left bolts. A left handed bolt just feels so much more natural in the hands of most/all lefties.

I so badly want a Stag Arms Model 2L and Wolverine Supplies has them in stock for a “measly” $1450.

My youngest son is a lefty that shoots very well right handed as does my wife.
Worked with a right handed fella that shot left handed.
What ever is the easiest for you and works.

I don't mind using right handed actions. Some of my friends tell me that I should dump my smle's (ammo problem starting to show itself), and go with .308's, but I find it works just fine reaching over the top to work the bolt, mainly because it's such a slick action, with the occasional hiccup.
