a type 2 (slanted) gas block or type 3 (curve) gas block ?

i need it for my research, trying to find out when the type 2 stopped and when the type 3 began .... thanks .

Yes my 1953 sks has the curve gas block (type 3). I get it from Moving Target 2 weeks ago. Beautiful unissued one.

Got a '53 which has the Type 3 curved gas block. Mine has a small diamond shaped refurb marking on the left side of the action body. As mentioned in your SKS sticky, your article was instrumental in my picking out the right quality of SKS from the numerous ones displayed at the gun dealer. Any contribution I can make to any Curtton research is my pleasure. Will await your findings.
