A second for Chris Dawe. However, he is not a furniture maker, although I suspect he could if he wanted to. He is a stockmaker (in this context) and you need wood. Gun furniture is metal.
 
A great deal depends on the gun you are wanting to restock. You will get quite different answers if the gun is a Mossberg or a Purdey sidelock.

If you do get in touch with Chris Dawe, you should know he has a special place in his heart for Lefevers. (As do most serious aficionados of North American SxS shotguns). Dan Lefever is recognized as perhaps the most inventive shotgun designer working in America during the golden era of SxS shotgun manufacturing. If you have received his contact info from Brian (gunsaholic) you should call Chris and discuss the gun and required work with him. I know Chris will be able to give you a lot of good info that will help you decide whether to pull the trigger on the deal or not.
