Do you own a Leader Carbine?

Hi all,

I asked this question a couple of years back. I am looking for anyone who owns an Australia Leader Carbine. They are prohibited, but I would love to examine one. I remember it from the 80s and would have loved to have shot one when that was still possible. If someone owns one, in the Quebec to Windsor corridor, I would happily buy you a coffee in return for a chance to look it over.

Its a shot in the dark, but what the heck...

Hi Armedsask,

Based on comments from a previous thread I posted several years back, at least a couple of handfuls of Leaders made it into Canada from the US. Granted, only about 2000 were imported into the US before the assault rifle ban, so I would guess maybe only 20 made it into Canada.

I agree, Ian has some excellent coverage of the Leader on his Forgotten Weapons YouTube channel. Aside from a history / disassembly video, he has also posted several videos of him using it in two gun matches.

Still, I would love to examine one in person. However, despite a previous appeal a couple years back, no one has come forth as owning one. Still, a guy can dream, right?

Unfortunately, they may be all gone or too far away. It never hurts to ask though.

You can't expect the best quality from some kangaroo humpers, especially when a guy sees a cheap to manufacture rifle, AR180, and says "I bet I could make it even cheaper."
