And FTR, I like to have company at the range, but solitude in the field.
 
By myself. I hate wasting the time pointing out the gopher standing straight up at 75 yards and having all my buddies say "where? where? I can't see him!". Right THERE!!! BOOOM!!!

I'm more effective by myself as well. I find it easier to 'get in the zone' for the long (300yd) shots. Plus, the truck doesn't rock as much when you're the only one shooting over the roof. :)

Honestly, I go out for the comradery more than the shooting anyway, so a few guys is great. Besides I can't see my own gophers blow up with a centerfire, so with a friend I can watch his!
 
Both are good but the preference goes to having a shooting buddy. I never take it that serious though....it's not like they shoot back.

I find using the o'clock and a rough yardage is good enough to get a buddy on target(not so much for the gf who has no concept of 12 o'clock 80-ish by the cow poop).

You also need someone around to witness a fluke/lucky shot after you call it first.:D
 
I agree with Dan.

I preffer to shoot with someone else, but not more than three other people at a time.

If I have to chose between going by myself, or not going... Well I am still gonna have fun!:dancingbanana:
 
I like shooting with buddies and by myself once in a while. The only thing I don't care for is when a group of ornery-looking range gods show up to start the scrutinization process. :D
 
I shoot at least a thousand gophers each spring/summer. Due to my field of employment I get plenty of weekdays off... when all the other poor slugs are working! If the conditions are good and nobody is available to shoot with me I will most certainly go alone. I pull my boys out of school now and again for this type of stuff. I once contacted a principal about them being out of school...his reply..."by all means, they will learn more out with you than sitting in public school".
 
It's more fun to have a witness to comment on some explosive hits, however if there aren't a bunch of gophers in a particular pasture its nice to have 'em all to yourself.:D
 
Gopher shooting

#### I have been trying to get out for the last 4 weekends but things are just not working out with partners to get out.

I might have to get out by myself which is crappy. I tried getting out there this weekend but no go so far.

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow for a few hours. I have a really good spot but it's about an hour drive away. We'll see how the weather is in the morning.
