Do you remember your first Milsurp

My first was the Swedish Mauser M96 (which I still have), bought it 37 years ago in Zürich Switzerland.
I had a ton of milsurp since then, most are gone, but the little swede will stay!

Mauser K98, Obendorf 1944. Metal is gorgeous, dirty birds intact, stock has some war stories. Yes its a russian capture, but she still hits a 10" gong at 200 yds with irons everytime, might take her to the grave with me :p

A SMLE sporter, my 17th birthday present which went missing from my apartment while I was at work one day. I had been having a disagreement with my landlady and she asked her boy friend to straighten me out. The boy friend was a married RCMP officer who, with a fellow officer in tow, had visited me the previous day and while searching my apartment found it and admired it. To say I was pissed when I failed to find it when I came home would be an understatement. I asked my landlady if her boy friend was involved and sorry was the reply, he didn't see any firearms when he searched your place. This guy was a poor example of an RCMP officer who went on to have a short and unpleasant career. This event didn't colour my view of the RCMP. I knew and have since met many fine officers.

Ljungmann AG-42B bought at a local auction ($60, or $80 can't recall) circa '86. My first deer gun. It was sold as a "semi swedish mauser", and no one there had a clue what it was. I was surrounded by local, tough-guy, gun lovers when the action snapped closed the first time EVERYONE jumped back. Good times.

I wasn't home when the registration came into effect, and a family member registered it...it was a "torped overlsag" according to the registry.
