Do you want new CZ-75 pre-B magazines?

Hi all,

I have a CZ-75 pre-B (1988 vintage). I want to buy some additional magazines, but the ones commonly available in Canada are the CZ-75B version (usually made by MecGar). These mags are slightly thicker (front to back) and won't fit in a pre-B pistol (I know, I have tried).

I have been in contact with a site sponsor about the possibility of importing brand new CZ-USA 16 round pre-B magazines (pinned to 10 rds, of course).

Because these aren't currently available in Canada, there would be a requirement to set up a special jig to pin them, plus an added cost per mag for the pinning, plus shipping, profit, etc.

However, before it is worth the company exploring this idea, they need to know if there is sufficient demand to make it worth their while.

Personally, I am in the market for 10 magazines (assuming they are reasonable in price).

Some other double stack pistol magazines on their site sell for about $60. I do NOT speak for the company, and I have NO idea what the final price would be, but I think it is safe to assume it wouldn't be less than that (the magazine alone goes for US$43 (C$54), plus shipping, $1 premium for the jig, $2 - 5 for the pinning or rod, profit, etc).

So, please post if you would be interested in new, CZ-75 pre-B magazines and if so, how many.

Once there is an idea of the level of interest, perhaps the company might consider it.

Thanks

So,

I am thinking that perhaps I greatly over-estimated the number of people looking for CZ-75 pre-B magazines. I suspect there may be two reasons for this. One, Corwin Arms recently brought in a large shipment of used pre-B magazines at a very good price, fulfilling much of the demand. Two, the price of bringing in new pre-B magazines is more than people are willing to pay.

Either way, I am thinking I might be better off taking my pre-B CZ-75s into a gunsmith and having them modified to take CZ-75B magazines. That way, I could use both pre-B and B magazines.

Anyway, thanks to those who were interested, but without significantly more support, it just doesn't look worthwhile at this time.

Cheers

I would be in for some if this actually happened. These mags would work in CZ 75B pistols as well so they should just bring them in anyways.

EDIT: Did some searching and found that marstar sells CZ 75 magazines. They are in stock as well. Just got these mags and they are just CZ 75B magazines... f:P:
