Does an America shooting range count as a "reconized club"?

In order to own a handgun in Quebec I Know that I must belong to a shooting club. I would like to join a club in Vermont. If this is the only club that I am a member of will I be able to keep my handguns, or will the RCMP, or Quebec CFO require that become a member of a Quebec shooting club?

You will need proof of membership, and possibly an invite on letter head, but I don't know if that will even cut it as Quebec has all of that Anastasia Law crap you have to go through prior to membership at their clubs. Not sure how that would be handled with an American club.

I doubt they will make anything easy for you.

Best bet is to give them a call.

I would respectfully suggest that you avoid doing this. First you will need the NIA Form 6 from the BATF. They no longer require a proof of membership or invite from a club in the states. But without it you cannot cross the border with any firearm.
And I would tell the Quebec CFO to stuff it if he asks for it (i.e. the club membership) as it is out of his jurisdiction. There is another way around this but I am not going to share that at this time as I do not want the info on this site (for the CFO's to see) and I want to use it myself first as a test.

Could you join a club in a neighboring province? I know the law doesn't require club membership, but you are going to need a club to shoot at, and if you don't give the CFO a membership #, they will likely give you a lot of grief now and in the future!

From what i understood it has to be a range in quebec cause they (range owner) have to report to the authorities cause of bill 9 that says " In practical terms, this means that each person who owns one or more registered restricted or prohibited firearms must justify its use and the frequency of its use.
Anyone outside of quebec will not do such a thing (bill 9 is only law in quebec) and if you didn't shoot your firearm (or if no one has reported that you did) the authorities can come and take it away.

EDIT:

For more info you can always e-mail the "Director general" of Fédération québécoise des chasseurs et pêcheurs here
