Have owned a Fabarms shotgun since Aug . Shot it a couple of times and notice the odd time it does not fire. thought it was the ammo tried other brands still same issue. So my questions is has anyone had this issue ?

It may not be going into battery, or locking closed tight enough. I've notice mine doesn't chamber properly...too tight...and haven't fired it yet because of that issue.

IF...the firing pin connects enough in this position, you would get a big KABOOM and parts flying everywhere. The reciever would likely be destroyed while you are holding the gun. Dangerous!!!

I'm not sure if this is mechanically possible, but I'd hate to find out the hard way!

These are my initial thoughts on the issue. Your mileage may vary.

yes, ive also had mine not close completely when chambering a round, happened approx 3 times out of 4 different trips and 30-40 rounds. My guess is that i was counting too much on the pump spring to close the action rather than making sure with my hand. Never had it happen with pump spring removed as i tend to rack it with more enthusiasm. I always figured it was operator error on my part but now I'm not so sure.

i have a pump never a problem and a semi it doesn't like light loads. other than that i've had them out and no problems.

My pump has no return spring and it chambers and fires fine every time. Hundreds of rounds through it now with no malfunctions (other than my own occasional feed failure when I don't seat the first round all the way into the magazine tube).

It also seems to like all loads, but I find 3" magnums kick enough to cause me to partially cycle the pump each time.

I have notice that when the hammer hits the firing pin it does not hit it full on , it more of an angle hit on the pin. i have taken it completely apart and cleaned it. As for racking the next round it seems the round does not go into the chamber as smooth as when i first got it.

Brought it to the range last night after gettting back from the store. Fired a couple round and then same thing not firing chamber closed pulled trigger and then click no bang happen 5 out of 15 rounds. Well its going back to the store and hope they can fix it.

I just remembered mine really does not like 3 inch shells. I run high brass buck and slugs with 0 problems.

Good luck and let us know what the issue was.

Do you pull back on the slide while firing? One of the idocincracies of the Fabarm pumps is that if you are pulling back on the slide when you fire the gun unlocks and opens. This will cause a failure to fire in most cases. You should be pushing forward with the support hand when firing.

And have you checked the round after the failure to see if it was even struck?

Could be light or shallow strike on the primer. Also, what ammo are you using?

I too have a Fabarm pump. I've put maybe 500 rounds of varying types through it without one failure. Awsome shotgun!

I do not pull back during firing , I have a good grip with my support hand . With the rounds that did not fire their is a very light hit on the cap. with the rounds that did fire theirs a good solid hit. I would say i have put about 100 rounds give or take 10 rounds. this issue just started. Thanks for the help

Sometimes the light hit is crappy ammo. We found a bunch in the bulk pack at the range this summer that had deep set primers (champion I believe). They often fired fine in another barrel (i.e. in an o/u or sxs), or another gun altogether. In some guns we saw two or three failures per box of 25.

Buy a box of premium ammo, and see if you can replicate the failures. You may just need to try another firing pin and spring too, to see if you can get a more consistent strike.

I assume you have dissassembled the bolt completely and cleaned it as well?
