does any one have a Norinco Type 54 'Military' 7.62x25mm

They are OK for the price, fit and finish is good but some pretty sharp edges on the one I had. Worked 100% with the 7.62x25 ammo, didn't work worth a crap with the 9mm conversion barrel. Accuracy was poor, grip angle is lousy, sights are bad..........
Thats par for the course though with a $180 norinco pistol.:)

I have one. Lots of fun! Accurate enough for plinking. Sounds great too.

Only hang-up for me is the ammo. Good luck for getting any 7.62x25 in Saskatchewan. Ordering the stuff costs too much with shipping and HAZ MAT fees.

I am forced to reload. (Gotta hang on to that brass)

I just ordered one from lever arms with both 7.62x25 and 9mm barrels - they're on special for $199. hope to try it out soon.

My 9mm barrel works, but only with round-nosed ammo. Semi-wadcutter doesn't work worth a damn.

Ejection is anywhere to the right of the gun however, including directly back at you on occasion.

As for the gun itself with 7.62x25, nothing wrong with it for the price.

A shooting buddy and I both bought the 54-1 with 7.62 and 9. Worth every penny. The safety is an add on and it's garbage, it comes on with recoil. Mine only had to do it a couple times before I took it off. If you take it off right away you won't get the "line" in the blueing from the detent ball rubbing. The only time I have a round chambered is when I'm shooting so no safety isn't an issue for me. I've been playing around with the 78gr cast and for $27 for 500 it's pretty cheap to reload for.

-- I've used some 146gr cast semi wadcutters without a hitch

I've more-or-less adopted my dad's Type 54. The first mag had to be hand cycled, after that there has been no problems with it.

One caveat, make sure you don't limp-wrist it my accident, some people are thrown off by feeling all the parts move when the gun fires

Strange recoil, unforgiving of poor grip, poor sights. Mine shoots high and to the right. Accuracy isn't great though it will hit the target every time, groups can be big but better than a shotgun. Ammo is cheap but dirty.
