And if yes, what range do you zero it for? I've heard that fifty meters is common, but does anybody go out to seventy-five, and if so, under what circumstances?
Yes, and I zero at 50 meters. I have a BDC scope and dial it up to 500 yards to be on at 100 meters. The groups do open up a bit at that range, but it is fun messing with the "once a year warriors" shooting a 22LR at 100 meters.
For me... Red dot sight, grouse. 30 to 50 yards.
That way I don't loose sight of everything else.
Besides I don't hunt with my dogs, so shooting a grouse 100 yards away with an Ăśber scope in the brush means looking for it's camouflaged carcass for a long time.
This is strange, but I actually saw my bullet arch towards a gopher, then he fell down! I only saw it for a second or so, but I clearly saw it at 6X. I thought that was really cool.
