I've been wanting to build a PRS style rifle in 6.5CM. The only problem? I'm a lefty. I've been looking for something with a heavy barrel, preferably 24". Does anyone know if there's a retailer out there who's willing to bring in such a thing? Also, what kinda cost would I be looking at pairing an action with an aftermarket barrel? I feel like I'm looking for a damn unicorn haha.

Are you looking to go full custom action and barrel? Or just a factory barrelled action like a Howa or Remington?

Gary at Bighorn Sales can bring in pretty much any action and barrel you want. Insite arms can do the same and build the whole rifle for you.

Prophet river might have some barrelled actions, They did last I checked buy maybe not a lefty. Either way I bet they could order you one.

The guys at ATRS make their own actions in any configuration you can imagine and they are a work of art.
Alternately they can get 700 actions and build on them.
Much depends on your budget, but literally anything can be done now a days. The big maunfacturers just don't want to bother to cater to those who are not the vast majority.

As a lefty who started his first build in 2015, I know how you feel. After years of being at this game, I'd recommend NOT trying to find a barreled action in LH.
Your best options are as follows:
- Buy a factory LH gun and work with that
- Buy a Canadian made, Ultimatum Deadline barreled action
- Buy an action and barrel separately and then build from there

I kinda mixed and matched these for my first build, bought a Tikka rifle, stripped it down to the action, bolt and trigger then built it up from there and I love it. The reason I'd advise against buying a barreled, custom action is that you have limited choice on both of those components. Don't get me wrong, I like both the action and barrel from UP, but it wouldn't my first choice if I were to do it again.

What I'd recommend you do is to contact Gary at Bighorn sales, Ken at Bullseye London or Tom at Go Big Tactical, look into a mid tier custom action like a Defiance Tenacity, Bighorn Origin, Kelbly's Atlas Tactical or ARC Nucleus and then build from there :) If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM too!

did I see the deadline actions on this site for 26% off the other day, is that because they are not, popular, do not work, or R they trying to break into, the market,

thought that was on this site on their own sub forum

Thanks for the replies guys. I was initially thinking about using a factory action/barrel, as this is my first PRS build. I'm definitely not opposed to buying a rifle and swapping out the stock for a chassis, but I can't seem to find anything with the right barrel length and profile.

Impact is starting to make left hand actions.

Insite is the exclusive dealer for Impact in Canada. Impact has been getting rave reviews - I would have Insite build you a PRS rig based off of a LH Impact action.

CanadaAmmo and Calgary shooting center had some a year or two ago.. i bought a lefty long action, changed my mind and sold it on the ee and went with a custom ks arms Action.. so glad I did.. I smile every time I cycle the action.

No troubles building a leftie short action PRS rig. I have had Insite build 2 of them for me the last couple years. The latest one is a Surgeon 591 left action in a MPA chassis. Absolutely a bullet proof combination and is exactly what tons of guys run in PRS.
My lefty custom build was also no more expensive then a regular right build.
Have also been kicking around another leftie build in JAE left chassis, which are sweet too. Insite also is a dealer for the JAE chassis and he did have a leftie one a few months ago.
Give the Insite guys a call and they will fix you up no sweat...

Elwood Epps has a LH Tikka Tac A1 in 6.5 Creed. For the OP, start with this and learn what you'd like to change. (It won't be very much) This will be the most econimical option. Piecing together some "ideal" setup will cost more in the long run.
