In the 90's Bevan King installed a new old stock 303 barrel and chambered it for 300 win mag. It was always accurate. I shot 200 gr .311 speer grand slams, at about 2900 fps. I have not used it for years, but I have some 215 gr Woodleigh RN bullets, and I am going to look for a moose with it this fall.
Does anyone else have a P14 opened up to 300 win mag?

Ditto! M1917 action with a P'14 bolt. Mine had a plastic stock. Loved it but the blind mag was hard to function and I decided I wanted one with a detachable box.
Custom P-17 rechambered to 308 Norma mag. Who ever built it knew what they were doing. The stock looks like a Weatherby mark 5 which fits me perfectly. Adjustable trigger. Late 60’ Balvar sitting in an adjustable mount. Probably should take it to the range sometime soon.
I've owned a few rebarreled to various magnums. It's an easy build, mostly. Google Tom Burgess' Enfield builds. Things of beauty, and he was a charming gentleman to correspond with. - dan

Not a P14 - I am sure the one here is M1917 (P17 to some) - re-chambered to 300 Win Mag and set into a synthetic stock. Appears to be an original 30 calibre barrel cut off just forward of the "R" - maker's mark. I suspect you might need to end up with a M1917 magazine (smooth sided) and perhaps an M1917 follower? (They are not the same P14 to M1917, although one appears to fit to the other. The bolt face has been machined for a belted magnum cartridge face. The bolt appears to retain its 30-06 extractor.

No. Barrel marked as "R" "4-18". Receiver has "Remington" on top, under front scope base. So, is likely the receiver and rest of it made by Remington, not by Winchester or Eddystone. Bolt and cocking piece stamped "R", but has serial number on underside of bolt handle that does not match receiver serial number - headspace checks okay with gauges, though. Rear original sight ears have been ground off to be like flat rear bridge - home made rear scope base with flat bottom, that appears to match to Weaver #46 on front receiver ring. No provisions for iron sights at all.
Shooter's end of receiver does not appear to have been been ground off square - it still has the M1917 bolt stop spring seat in place.

I suspect post WWII there were many P14 and P17 converted to "hunting rifles" - some commercially, and some in someone's work area - varying degrees of competency with tools demonstrated. Similar like Mauser 98 about that time.

I read about, but never tried, to go to the bigger Jeffery rounds - that likely needs some milling to receiver feed rails and like a "custom" sized magazine, and maybe some funky grinding to follower to get it to feed properly.

I turned the feed rails in my p14 into a single stack mag free rails. So I need to open the action and load the round in the same a mag is filled. I have a video of it actually I'll edit this post and post it from the computer. the case was so fat it wouldn't fit between the rails so opposed to making it feed from the left and the right, it just center feeds
i added a second video that shows what's happening from a slightly different angle

Evan - you probably already thought of this - but you need something to hold the round down in the magazine, when the bolt gets opened, but then allows the next round to rise up to chamber as the bolt gets closed.
I used the factory p14 feed rails for that. I only opened up the first 2/3 of them so I can slide the round under the remailing rails that the case doesn't fit though to hold the round in place when the bolt is open
