Does anyone else have a rifle that is just too nice to hunt with?

I love it when guys never fire their guns and hold onto them. I got a nice unfired Brno ZP-149 side x side because of people like that and now its my main hunting shotgun.

Also my Whitworth .375H&H has some safe kisses but it was never fired when I got it.

A winchester model 70 with triple A maple wood stock. The high gloss finish on the barrel and stock make me not even want to take it out of the gun safe.

I use mine, don't plan on intentionally damaging it, but a nick or scratch may happen over time.

If I buy something for hunting it gets used no matter how nice it is. Some stuff I buy just to keep unfired because I know it will increase in value

If it's a common commercial hunting rifle why not? You can always buy another one when you destroy this one from use.
If it's a custom built one of a kind...also, why not? What the hell did you spend all that money for NOT to use it for it's intended purpose?

I consider myself an acquirer of fire arms.
I am organizing my rifles into 3 categories, Hunters, Shooters, and Queens.
It is soon time to reduce inventory and let Queens and some of the Shooters go.
Unfortunately the time I am spending hunting is starting to be less each year.
Stay tuned.

I have no problem with owning something so nice I wouldn't risk damaging it. You know, like a coin collector with a mint condition coin in a plastic sleeve. I can appreciate its beauty and art and craftsmanship for what it is.

I got this fella in a trade, was so clean I doubt it had more than three rounds through it, not a fingerprint or mark, would have made a handy truck gun, but I have many of those, i didnt think they came that clean brand new out of the box. Hard to see based on the picture but it was mint.

Sold it, hopefully it ends up in the hands of someone who can appreciate it.

I have the opposite problem. I ordered a LH Anschutz from Profit River. He brought it in for me. It has that f***ugly threaded barrel. I don't like it and have not fired it. Because he brought it in for me I don't want to ask him to take it back. Maybe it will go up in value so it is worth what I paid.

I have no problems bringing any gun to the range but then again I wouldnt go out of my way to drag a collectors piece through the bush.
