Does Anyone Else Think The Factory Bipod Is Too High? (CZ/VZ)

It is meant to be used with 30rd mags, that is why is so high. On mine I put rail attachment on the barrel and put handel bipod on that. Works fine with 5 rd mags for 30 it is too low

I just mean in general. I can see giving room for the standard mag but having to prop myself right up seems a bit much.

i find the the factory bipod changes POA around 6" at 100yards which is far too much as far as i am concerned

Wow, I only got to do some very informal shooting, it was my first time out. If I get similar results I know what part is going to be on the EE soon...

Not what I wanted to hear:(. I looks neat, but if everyone is getting the results I am it's gotta go. This is a part for the occasional plinker I guess.

There are two reasons for the factory height;

The magazine height as explained before, as well add a VZ Chest rig and 8-10 mags on your front and you will find that you will be propped up to that height when firing prone.

The bipod is not used much in the service and was never intended to be used for sustained fire. In the 50's when this rifle was made the average soldier was still trained to fight from trenches so having something to rest your rifle on made sense.

The VZ is a fighting rifle. An assault rifle. Lose the bi-pod and start training for making hits from 15-100 in various positions.
Standing, Walking forwards and backwards, kneeling, sitting, laying on your side, fighting to your feet from the ground.
That's the kind of rifle the VZ is.
It's not a sniper rifle or a SAW. It a run and gun hard hitting fighting rifle.
If you are going to seriously train to fight with this rifle get an ambi bolt carrier and cut the bent part of the trigger guard off.

Good times.

Uh huh....:rolleyes:. I did cut the trigger guard and just mailed off my carrier off to broncoo for modding but I shoot for fun. I thought the bipod would be neat and it isn't. SORRY for bringing it up...
