I came into a quantity of 7x57 reloads. Well done, well labelled. RL22, I4350...etc. , weights of bullets, grains of powder etc.
There are hand written labels stating "H1-V2" with 175 grain range of bullets.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?

most likely Hercules Hi-Vel #2, a very old powder discontinued in the mid 1960's. It was used in 7x57 and 30-06 and similar cartridges. I'd pull the bullets on a couple, check for green corrosion or brown dust, if not, shoot 'em up.

Hi Vel powders were OK for the time and delivered some very good velocities in cartridges needing medium burn rate powders. I was never a fan of those powders because they were VERY temperature sensitive and therefore inconsistent. Break them down all the way and keep the bullets/cases. Throw away the primers and powder. The new propellants offered are so much better. Also, with brass that old you may want to re anneal the necks. It isn't unusual for brass from that time period to crack, if it hasn't already.
