I was wondering if anyone has a CZ 550 LUX, or a CZ 550 AMERICAN, bolt action.
Are you happy with it and why or if you are not happy with it why.
Any problems with them.

The old model 600, 602, and 601 brnos were a little rough around the edges as far as cosmetics (tooling marks, bluing, polishing, etc.), but were all steel and had better springs (trigger, etc.) the best. the new cz's are the same basic action with a little better finish, different stocks, cheap springs, a few pieces of alloy, still a very good gun for your money compared to the other mauser copies out there. you can't go wrong buying one. But I'm still old school

Yes sir I do.
Happy would be a very accurate way to describe my feelings for them. Controlled round feed forged square bridge reciever retaining the c ring , hammer forged barrel with good quality iron sights, fully adjustable single set trigger , two position safety , two crossbolts on the 9.3 and pachmayer decelerator pad. Mine are very very accurate hunting rifles that feed and function flawlessly.
here's some one else's opinion

I have two, one CZ550 Lux in 416 Rigby and one CZ55 Med in 300 Min Mag. Both have the European stock wit the Bavarian cheek rest. Very happy with them, they feed well & shoot as expected, (very well), I like how the handle. I can't wait to get on in 9.3x62...

As everyone else stated very though & acurate rifles . The only thing i dont like about mine is that the bolt sqweeks like a barn door when it's cycled , & I can't seem to find low scope ring's . Otherwise great rifles .

isnt the bolt throw to high to mount a scope very low on it?

It could come down 3/16 & have plenty of clearance for the bolt . My 50mm is A 1/4" off the bbl . Maybe the new leupy qr's are a little lower have to try somthing can't seem to be able to sell it .

ah ok, i just read that having to mount the scope pretty high because of the bolt handle was a common complaint

The issue with bolt handle rotation is ocular lens clearance where many of the newer scopes have a large diameter eye piece. As an example, in the case of the article on RG it is 1 3/4" in diameter where Warne .535" ring height worked and medium rings at .425" would not. Objective lens clearance is not an issue. If a scope is being fit with a smaller ocular lens, medium height rings may fit.

Where can one find a selection of scope rings for this rifle? I'm reall considering a CZ550 American in 9.3 x 62 but I like my scopes mounted low. How can I do this? I would be putting a Leup 1.5 x 5 on it.

I am wondering how much of a problem this is going to be. If I am using a bussnell 4X9 40 scope, what is the clearnance from the front lens of the scope to the barrel of the gun?
Can you tell me what scopes and size you have on your guns and how much off of the barrel the front lens is?
I am considering getting the CZ 550 AMERICAN in a 22-2590 for coyt hunting.
