Does anyone here reload 7.62x54mmR? I understand that it is difficult since it is Berdan-primed.

What would once-fired brass be worth in this caliber? I am considering purchasing new Winchester sport rounds in a few weeks, and would like to know if the brass has any resale value for handloaders.

I'm set up to load for this, though I never actually have. I found some reloadable brass here on CGN, as well as a the brass from a few boxes of Igman ammo I got from milarm (Igman is boxer primed).

I didn't know Winchester made 762x54R

Forget about reloading the berdan primed stuff. It can be done, but is difficult, & berdan primers are expensive & hard to find. All boxer primed 7.62x54r can be easily reloaded. Once fired boxer primed brass is scarcer than hens teeth in this calibre. New brass can be found, but plan on calling lots of places to find it, & it won't be cheap. I have heard of some going for $1 each.

I don't expect we'll see milsurp ammo in 7.62x54R available in Canada again, so reloading's the answer (like it is for everything but 7.62x39).

Hirsch Precision sells Lapua brass for about $100 for 100. Handled correctly it will last a long time.
