I remember years ago seeing an ad in the back of a gun magazine for a tactical/benchrest type stock called a "Pug".

If memory serves they were all aluminum with a pistol grip and totally free floated barrel area. I know they fit on Remington 700s of course, and maybe some others.

Does anyone else remember these or even have experience with one?

Is it this thing?

If so, there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of info about them anywhere.

Interesting as I'm currently developing an aluminium stock for my first rifle build which I started today(holiday project) gotta say it won't look like that.

Yes. That is it!
Just as ugly as I remember, but yet with a certain charm.

Are those yours? If so how do you like them?

No, unfortunately not. I pulled up "PUG Rifle Stock" on Google, and that was the only picture I could find. Not a whole lot of information to be had on them, only that they were $899 and were considered a basic, entry level target stock. The action clamp is certainly an interesting mounting solution though.

I bought it...........sinclar international used to make and sell them.......a long long time ago

The Pug was an ugly SOB. If I remember correctly, an old gezzer named JJ Conway shot one and may have won a few matches with one a few years ago at the DCRA matches.

Sure, it may be ugly, but for some reason I want one!!! the other one with the blue is awesome as well.... i like it a bit more. I dunno about the blue though. I'm thinking black may have looked better? Its funny, as my nickname when i lived in Alberta was "pug", or "pugsly", a dude named (as the OP), "Boomer" called me that.... LOL.
