Does anyone know of the barrel from this Churchill will fit an 870 Wingmaster? https://www.reliablegun.com/en/akkar-churchill-wood-pump-action-shotgun-12ga-3-12-matte-black-walnut-stock-4rds-rifle-front-sight-fixed-cylinder

I was thinking of getting a Dlask 12.5" barrel (currently out of stock), but similar money gets an entire shotgun. If the barrel fits, I'll just swap it over to the 870 and have a spare parts.

To my knowledge they are a 870 clone like a Dominion Arms grizzly.
So I would assume the barrel will fit but have never tried. I have used a 870 with a Dominion Arms barrel.

I just got a 12.5” Dlask for my 870. Cool looking thing now. Playing with it this weekend I shot 3 gophers with it using some #4 steel shot I had laying around. But couldn’t connect with slugs. Definitely shooting high. Hope to get some time this week to put some slugs on paper

Is there much difference between the Grizzly and Dlask barrels? For a shorty shotgun barrel I can't imagine there being much functional difference. Maybe a nicer finish on the Dlask.

How far were you shooting gophers from? #4 shot must hit them pretty hard.

The Churchill isn’t an 870 clone ... it’s its own thing.

Short barrels shoot high ... the grizzly with rifle sights works better and the Remington 14” barrels have a raised pedestal that works too. I’m not sure what sights are on the Dlask ... I think the last batch might have had no sights ... check the Dlask threads for clarification on that.

From what I gather the Dlask barrel is thicker walled, has a fiber optic raised front sight blade and likely has a nicer finish as it’s not made in China. That said I’ve had zero complaints with the 12.5” Norc barrel, I had it threaded for chokes and after cutting the front sight down it shoots poa/poi out to 50y with slugs and throws nice bird and buckshot patterns out to 30y with a mod choke.

Nice, that's a Norinco/Grizzly barrel? Are these still available or only second hand on EE?

I think you're right, the last Dlask batch had no sights. Some sort of raised sight would be better, although more likely to snag.

The Dominion arms Grizzly is an 870 clone made for Canam by Norinco, they have come in various versions (Mag fed/tube fed, bead, ghost ring and rifle sighted etc etc) over the years. Rem 870 parts will swap into them and vice versa for the most part, as they are Chinese made some of the specs/tolerances are a bit off. For example the tube the forend slides onto on the action bar assembly is a c-hair bigger on the grizzly, to put a Rem forend on you sometimes need to sand the inside of the forend so it’s can slide on and off easier. The grizzly stock set is heavy as a boat anchor and should be swapped out for lighter Rem or aftermarket sets, generally the barrels swap between the grizzly and 870, some have said the barrel doesn’t index properly and the front sight ends up being canted. I’ve not had this happen all the ones I’ve tried on 870’s have all indexed properly at 12 o’clock.

Canam has had just barrels for sale in the past but I’d expect your looking on the used market for one now, try the ee as they pop up periodically. Barrel wall thickness can be an issue if you want them threaded for chokes, I had one threaded for tru chokes which are thinner walled than Rem or Winchokes. Some of Canam’s early runs of the grizzly came factory threaded for winchokes. I’ve since got rid of the ghost ring sights and cut down and added a bead to the front ramp on mine, so it shoots properly and not high like most short barrels with a bead sight.
