Does finish matter on a varmint rifle?

I have a old 110 and it is a bit shinny, I had a coyote coming to my call and he just passed the 400yd marker I have on the power line ( I'm down wind) and he made a right hand turn at high speed for the woods as if he were shot out of a cannon, I was in a tent with the only thing sticking out was the barrel and bell of my scope. Just wondering if the sun made a light house of my barrel and scope

Any scope worth it's salt is multicoated, which should nearly eliminate reflections and glare

so if the scope lens are coated it shouldn't give off a glare, my scope is a old weaver marksmen.

no. Consider the fact I used to hang aluminum foil pie plates above my coyote traps to lure the coyote in your gun should not be a problem. something else happened when the coyote took off on you at 400yds. It wasn't because of your rifle.
