Ok, this has been bugging me for a bit. I have a few scopes with bdc reticles of different configurations and when I adjust the focus it also adjusts the perceived magnification. Following so far?
Basically, with the focus at mid-point, looking at a target at 100 yards with the scope on 9x, I focus the scope until the reticle and target are clear (usually most of the way clockwise) and the image shrinks as if I'm cranking the scope down to 8x at the same time.
Now my question is, is the image as well as the crosshairs "shrinking" the same amount as in ffp or is it just the image. I haven't been able it figure this one out on my own and am wondering how it affects some of the bdc calculators I've been using.
