I was wondering of gong to the actual BCCFO's office help in any way to speed things up?

Has anyone done this and what was the result?

When I did my course for R-PAL we were told specifically not to go there as they don't take kindly to that. I can see it being a bit of a nuisance if everyone came by there every other day. Just sit patiently, they'll get to your application soon enough.

Depends on how long you've been waiting. I've gone down there on 2 occassions, asked what the hold up was (politely), returned home and requested documents were in my email. Magic.

My PAL application was received at Miramachi on Aug 10, so compared to a lot of other people that's not very long.

I was told last week that it should be approved within 48 hours (that was a few days ago).

Hearing that got me all hot and bothered I guess (such teases)!

I can wait a few more weeks then.

I've been pondering to do this as well.

If I didn't hear anything from them, I'm going there next week (after calling).

If they didn't want people to show up, why do they have a PUBLIC OFFICE??

Calling doesn't work as of lately so you have no other options, why the office is setup with a partitioned "customer service" type setup.

Does anyone have actually tried to show up in the office? Does it actually help or will it be a waste of time and gas?

Well, when I needed to bring in proof of range membership to the Alberta CFO to get a transfer approved I just went to their office, rather than mailing it in and waiting probably 2 days for the letter to make it across the city, then however long it takes them to get around to processing it.
I walked in the office at about 4:21pm, was back out with temp cert in hand by 4:40. So, it might be faster for you as well.

One time I phone; great response, next day solved.

One time I e-mailed, same day solved.

I know some people have had long delays, but so far, I have had good experiences.

I've been waiting 2 months now for the local cfo to approve both pal and rpal..tried calling and was told it has a code 17 attached which supposedly means it is being looked at ,whatever that means..4 months total waiting time now
