I've searched through all of huntingBC and all I can find are a few people that know of a couple little areas in the Cowichan Valley, but they'll never share. I've never kept a look out for wetlands but I have seen a bunch of mallards that chill out in pools along the cowichan / nitnat rivers but always on the other side so you could never shoot and retrieve them, even with a dog.
I've been looking on maps for a while now and can't seem to find anything wetland. Everything you google is all private land, I haven't tried asking for permission yet, that's the next thing I'm going to do.
Do I need to just anchor my boat in the middle of the lake and spread decoys? I don't know if that works but it's a lot more logistics to take a boat hunting than to just go and lay around in a marsh. Any straight talk advice from locals or people familiar with the area would be appreciated.
