Like the title says, does it matter what kind of ultra sonic cleaner to use for cleaning brass? Ive used Amazon.com to look at reviews on the popular brass US cleaners (Hornby/Lynman) and there are few reviews and even fewer GOOD ones.

On the jewelery market that are TONS with great reviews and even 1/3 of the price! I want to know if you can use these ones to clean brass.

Thanks

Check this one out. Do you see anything different from one of the name brands?

yes, and hornady is 3x the price for the same thing.
just make sure you get one that is large/powerful enough.
I'm personally getting a SS pin tumbler because ultrasonics will not shine the brass at all.... it stays dull, and not 100% clean to me. (unless it's 1 hour in the US....)

There is no difference between the smaller units of different brands, but there is a world of difference between the small units and the larger ones. The link above is one of the smaller units. They're a waste of money IMO, unless you're only doing small quantities of brass. They do not do a very good job unless you put the cases in for a long time.

I run my pistol cases thru my Lyman, many hundred at a time... It's twice the machine the Hornady could ever be and by the time I have one batch rinsed off and set to dry the next one is ready for a rinse... I'm not terribly fussy about shiney brass just as long as its CLEAN.

The Hornady cleaning soloution however kicks ass.

+1 Makes is clean and shiny very time and cleans a whole lot faster than anything else. I think it may actually be Citronox re-packaged...

That's the word on AR'forum and Glock talk...

Anything more then 10-15min soak and you get the rainbow effect, gotta pay attention using it but hot diggity it works better then anything else I have tried and a little go's a loooong way.

I used to buy Citronox when I lived in the US and this stuff looks and smells like it...

I've run way past that and never had the rainbow effect. Are you mixing it to a 40:1 ratio accurately? I use one of my beakers to measure out 100ml precisely and add it to a 4L jug.
