I just talked with a fellow (40 year old family man with a spotless record) who did his CFSC/CRFSC tests with me a couple of months ago. The references he gave on his PAL application were asked if he had ever expressed interest in harming children and/or committing violent acts in a school yard. He and his references were shocked by the questions. You may want to give your references a heads up...
 
Sounds like the experience my references also had. One of my references was asked if he was a reference of his own free will or if I was forcing him to do so with violent threats.

They've been asking those kinds of leading questions for years.

It's more like: Does the applicant show a fascination with workplace or school shootings?
 
i got my call from RCMP on monday, interview went fine.

but since then they've only called 1 reference.

never called my girlfriend, or second reference.

any reason why they're not moving forward?

does this happen often?

Yeah, I just got that one as well last week. And no, neither my wife (a year ago) nor my buddies wife was called. I'm wondering if it makes a difference if she's the photo guarantor? Our wives were!
 
It is not guaranteed that they will call all your references. Obviously from your standpoint it doesn't matter if they call every one or none. Just give it a bit of time and check the website to see the status of it.

I had my ex listed and they never called her either.
