Does the law require the gun cabinet to be bolted to the wall? The baseboard moulding makes a big gap between the cabinet and the wall. Not sure if the landlord allows to cut the moulding.

Will the humidity in basement make the firearm rust?

Thanks.

No though it doesn't hurt if you're allowed. In your case being a tenant, perhaps not.

Depends on the humidity level in the basement.

Thanks.

I went well over and above regulations when it came to firearm storage. More of a personal choice.

Put a spacer near the top of the safe, screw to floor and screw through spacer to wall...1 stud at least.

If in basement get a work lamp with a 25 watt bulb and put it in the safe, or by a humidifier rod.

All your listed problems are ververy simple to overcome

Dehumidifier rod seems a perfect solution. Will it cause a safety hazard if I put the ammo inside metal ammo box into the gun cabinet? Sorry if it sounds stupid, I just got my first SKS rfile.
