Does the Savage 10FP HS and McM models only come in .308?

I knew the McMillan only came in .308, but is this true as well for the HS model? That's what it says on the Savage website, but I could have sworn it came in .223 for some reason.

Thanks

From the research that I have done, the answer appears to be yes for those 2 stock configurations. The only 10FP in an alternate calibre is a .223 in the Choate Stock configuration. There are two Choate options, regular and side folding.

If you download the catalogue from the savage webpage and check the product list at the back it will tell you all the specs for each rifle and what configurations are available in what claibers. If you look towards the front of the catalogue you will see what the regualr Choate stack looks like ( I believe it is shown with stainless barrel, scope and bipod in the picture).

Hope this helps.

Cheers

You can always buy a McMillan .308 & switch it with a Choate .223 or an 10FP .223...They should be pretty close in fit since they are both Savage Short actions.

what i did is: i bought a savage model 10 std in .308, then i bought a bell & carlson stock it cost me $402 tax included. i should have bought a 10fp mcmillan stock but i was too cheap. tomorrow, i'll buy the savage model 10fp std in .223 and will buy a bell & carlson medallist stock from williams arms in port perry. it looks like my beloved visa card will maxout tomorrow.....carlos

Bought an .308 10FP HS Precision & put the stock on a .223 10FP..Can't wait to try it out...Already sold the .308 with the original stock from the .223
