Does the Savage MkII BV have a satin or matte barrel?

I'm wondering if the BV usually comes in either one or the other -- satin or matte finish -- or both? I say "usually" because the Savage Arms website says the Mark II BV barrel finish is "satin" and the barrel on my BV (bought new a couple months ago with a laminate stock) definitely has a "matte" finish. If you have a BV, is it satin or matte finish?

You're not going to get a hi-gloss mirror finish on a $300 rifle. If it's blued steel, it's their "satin" finish. Their matte finish appears to be a coating of some sort from what I've seen, although I have seen some blued barrels are more matte than satin.

Maybe post some pics of the rifle?

Quite right. A hi-gloss finish should not be expected on an inexpensive rifle. I was just wondering if there was one type of finish or not.
