So a few years ago when I was living out West and shooting a bit further, I bought a Savage 11/111 Long Range Hunter in .308 as a kind of versatile field/range rifle to have fun with. I haven't been shooting the distances lately to have as much fun with this rifle and will most likely be selling it. What I did remember from a few years ago was the Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine. This is the rifle I originally wanted but couldn't find in .308. Did some thorough browsing and ultimately discovered they aren't made anymore and seem to be replaced by the Model 10 FCP-SR.

Does anybody know where I can find a Precision Carbine in .308? Or does anyone have any info on the FCP-SR or similar rifle? Looking for a rifle with a medium weight, shorter barrel in .308 that is fun at the range but still versatile enough if I decide to take it hunting. Cheers!

Check out the Equipment exchange on here, they come up from time to time. I picked one up last year for $650. Newer ones come with a threaded barrel. I didn't know these were no longer made....that sucks, mine shoots well as it came from factory with factory loads and mediocre monkey on the trigger
