Or is more work needed?

At 25 yards it parked bullet holes on top of each other into the little man on the grid.

At 100 yards it shot about 8" higher than my point of aim. The group measured 1.5" top to bottom and .5" left to right.

At 200 yards it shot about 7" above my point of aim. The group measured 11" from top to bottom and 4" left to right.

This was shooting at a target about 14" wide and 18" high with an 8" black circle in the middle.

This is being shot with A1 irons, totally rested, off the shelf 55grain FMJ out of 20" barrel with a2 stock.

I was definately having trouble aiming at the same point at 200 yards and was basically aiming at the bottom of the paper (which I could distinquish somewhat). But could pretty easily aim consistently at 100 yards. At 100 yards I aimed for centre of target and it hit 8" above POA.

Just wondering if the zero and drops sounds right so I can concentrate on improving technique. Because as I look at it, I guess I would aim for hypothetical belt buckle to get something in the paper vitals?

What sort of targets are used in competitions?

I'd say go for the 50/250 zero. There isn't a lot of use to zeroing at 25 yards other than for specific competitions or for pistol calibres.
