Does anyone have any experience with dolphin stocks? I've searched here and only found one or two builds. I'm looking for opinions and user feedback. Do you like them, would you buy another? I'm planing a rifle build and trying to figure out what stock I like.

Thanks

I recently got a Dolphin equipped F Class rifle off a forum member here. I had my eye on a Dolphin stock for some time and when this one came up on the EE I scooped it up. I have no regrets at all. The stock is very well built, and very adjustable. The only thing I have had to get used to is the stock rail that rides the rear bag. On my wood stocked F Class rifle I never had to worry much about where the rear bag was. With the short rail section riding the bag I have to be mindful that after a couple of rounds down range that rail hasn't shifted off the bag. The new generation stocks are even nicer with the padded, screw jack adjustable, cheek piece as opposed the old style which is essentially a bent piece of aluminum. I think there are less expensive aluminum chassis out there, but I have found the Dolphin a piece of quality kit.

Peter Dobson at Hirsch Precision has these stocks in stock.
I have had the opportunity to check them out, and test fire a new build. There were also some shooters at Raton shooting these stocks as well.
They are very well built, and a very rigid shooting platform. They shoot very well from the bench, and we produced some very good groups with factory Lapua ammo. We did actually bed the action, as opposed to the factory instructions and it seemed to shoot exen better with the limited testing done.
The only down side, in my opinion, is that they are fairly heavy. Most F-class shooters are going to bigger, and longer barrels and optics, so total weight is becoming a concern especially in F-Tr.

well built, nice colors, and the new model is even nicer, unless you want wood they work quite well, my friend has one and it is made really well,

Check out some of the shooting teams in the UK, I think youll see more of them there then here right now but they are getting popular. They are great stocks, my next build will be in one of those stocks for sure.
