1) A few months back I bought a M375 and would like to put a date of manufacture to it. On the interwebz I found info that says since 1973, the DoM can be found by subtracting the first two digits of the serial number from 100. Is this correct?

The serial # is 20111###, so it should have been manufactured in 1980 if the info I found was correct. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

2) I would like to put an aperture sight on it. Any recommendations? I know Williams make a sight and Lyman probably do too. I would prefer a receiver mount to a weaver base mount type. Any others?

Thanks,
Mark

1980 is correct. I really like williams receiver sights for their adjustability an aesthetics. Skinner sights are pretty nice also. Personally i'd take williams based soley on appearance and familiarity.
