Dominion 12" non restricted?

For semi-autos, 18.5 inch barrel length and 660mm OAL applies. A lesser barrel will classify a semi-auto as restricted. Installing a PG only and making it less than 660mm OAL, makes it prohib unless it came that way from the factory.

Regards.

Well easy, I'm glad I was wrong on the pistol grip point;) Just a quick question, and excuse me if I've hijacked this thread. I'm more into Semi(1100 Remmy) shotguns. I know that you can not have a barrel less then 18.5" on a semi, but can I have a semi with an 18.5" barrel and a pistol grip stock? How about a folding stock?

A Remington 1100 has a buffer tube on the back of the receiver that would interfer with a pistol grip or a folding stock. You could do it with a Fabarm, but you would probably have to get an adapter of some sort custom made.

#1bcshooter, these are the laws as I under stand them. A bolt/pump action or single shot shotgun may have a barrel length under 18.5" if manufactured that way, and still be classified as a non-restricted. However a semi may not. 18.5" is the min. for these. You may not cut down a barrel for a bolt/pump action or single shot yourself from previously longer than 18.5" to less than 18.5" unless you are a barrel/firearm manufacture. Another twist to this sickining scenaro, is that a bolt/pump action or single shot shotgun may not have a stock which can be collapsed leaving the overall length of the shotgun less than 26". Am I correct in this? So I believe that a 12" Dominion Arms 870 clone may or may not fall into a restricted class. I'm not sure of the overall length of a 12" 870 with a pistol grip would be, as I don't own one. Someone else help me out hear, because I'm starting to get giddy:redface:

Yes I am aware of that . My question is my gun comes with the standard stock attached and it is over 26" overall length and is registered as non restricted . But the gun came from the factory with a pistol grip not attached . If I remove the standard stock & install the FACTORY pistol grip the gun is now under 26" . Am I missing something here . The gun is now under 26" . Restricted . I guess time will tell . If anyone gets there Griz seized wile out shooting with the FACTORY pistol grip installed we will see a post about it .

Damn Eddie, I had forgotten all about the bloody action spring tube:redface:. I must have a bit of brain freeze from all the Global Warming down here(-18c). I was thinkin' of a pistol gripped 18.5" 1100 Remmy. I guess I'll have to go with a pistol gripped conventional or tacticle stock:(
