Dominion 7.62x39 FMJ price increase in 1 week

The part that isn't true is people stating that the low Canadian dollar is the reason for the price increase.

This would apply to new stock.

You bought this stock 2 years ago when the dollar was at par with the U.S.

The low dollar is the reason. We have to sell the current stock and buy the new stock at an increase of at least 30%. As I explained (via Gatehouse) above.

You guys don't have to explain yourself, it's your business.

That being said, this makes no sense to me. You bought the LCW at the 2013 exchange rate. Using this logic ^ the new stock will be back to $249? If so, I'll be in for more.

Let me explain:

We have to pay money, raised by selling current inventory, to buy new stock. A container of ammo costs X, so we have to have X in cash to buy that. We sell the remainder of our ammo to raise X. We take the new price, based on the current exchange, and divide that into X. We then take that number and know how many cases, at retail and wholesale, we have to sell to get to X. We reached that point, with a small margin for retail wholesale balance estimates, this weekend. Hence the heads up on the price increase.

This is somewhat simplified, as we do not just sell one thing. We could have used one of several formula to do much the same (raised to a lesser amount earlier, etc) but holding the old price as long as possible was the choice we made.

Do you complain to the gas station every time the gas price goes up when oil prices go up?
"But you bought the gas in your tanks in the ground before the price increase"

Thank you CanAm for the heads up and continually providing great deals

CanAm, Thank you for providing with some of the BEST ammo prices and free shipping. I've got many wonderful deals with you......and I have no questions or comments about how you determine pricing.:)

What happens when the dollar comes up again ? will places lower there prices ? Doubt it lol that's buisness I guess though
Yes, mainly due to competition. If the market drives it down. That is controlled by supply and demand. a dealer like us will get a great price and want to move a whole lot fast, so we drop the price. We have done it many times.

Got my ammo today as well, thumbs up to CanAm for giving us a heads up, for those b@#$ and moaning you are free to buy elsewhere, gives us more stock to pick from.
