Dominion Arms - Grizzly - First Impressions

Got my knoxx spec ops this morning and put it on. I didnt expect it to be so heavy it sure adds alot of weight to the grizzly. Thats ok though. My only complaints are that the slide release is pretty much unreachable with my hand on the pistol grip. The safety isnt easy either. I'm used to the valtro which was designed for a pistol grip so everything is easy to reach. Its a good sturdy unit though and deffinetly shortens the overall length of the gun a bit which is what I was most interested in.

Never even heard anyone using 870 safety.

Just open the action.

Is it just oversized or oversized and extended.

Extended safeties won't work with Knoxx Stocks as the receiver slides back into the stock. Extended safeties will jam against the stock damaging both.

Some people have milled the area away from the knoxx stock to allow the extended safety to move back into the "pocket" during full recoil.

I was doing a bit of looking around the net for info on these and there is not alot. i did read some where that with the remis you are able to screw a longer barrel onto the ends of short ones where the choke would normally go. Was this just part of late night browsing or is it possible? More importantly, does dominion arms have this feature? thanks

Perhaps you are thinking of extended chokes with built-in muzzle brakes and/or ports. These can add up to 2-3 inches to the barrel.

I've never heard of barrel extensions that use the choke threads to extend the actual barrel. There is insufficient material to provide the necessary strength. Think screwing two pipes together with a coupling. The coupling diameter is considerably larger than the pipe to provide the necessary strength to "tie" the two pipes together.

SIR sells a 12" full choked barrel extension that screws into the choke threads it should make your gun bird worthy.
Incedentally on a full 28" length barrel with subsonic reloads with fast powders like reddot it makes your gun pretty quiet too.
