Dominion Arms Grizzly-MAG function/reliability issues?

I tried out my DA Grizzly mag shotgun at the range today. I put 20 birdshot rounds downrange and it performed perfectly. When I first bought the gun though, the shells would get jammed when I tried cycling them. All you have to do is lightly sand the lips of the magazine and it's good to go. Lots of fun to shoot.
 
thanks, these things look fun! My 870 had this annoying jam where it would fail to eject a shell after it was fired sometimes and you had to dig it out...hasnt happened in a while. Not too fond of guns that constanly malfunction...
 
My experience with the DA Grizzly MAG is you get what you pay for. No problems cycling, but it would sometimes slip out of battery after the slide was closed & locked. :eek: I found the rails that lock the slide forward after you load the gun were not aligned well and the slide could slip past them if you twist the forestock. The rear sight came slightly cocked and I found that threw shots way off to the left. The "heat shield" felt like cheap flimsy plastic. I took it off as I was concerned it would melt if the barrel actually heat up. On the plus side, it didn't cost much! :(
 
Mine jams up sometimes. If the round at the top of the stack is not positioned correctly, it will get hung up and fail to feed. The end of the shell has to be pointed up a bit - sometimes you have to reposition it with your finger. If the end of the shell is not sticking up high enough, it won't leave the magazine.

I tend to read all the threads about these particular shotguns, and I don't recall anyone else having this problem, so maybe it's only my gun that does this, I don't know.

A lot of guys really seem to love these guns. With all the accessories available, it's a great shotgun for pimping out. To me, it's a fun range toy... but in it's current state, I wouldn't trust it to function in a high-stakes scenario.

Try lightly sanding the magazine lips with some sandpaper or a file. I had to do this to mine for it to cycle smoothly. I think the lips hold the shells too tightly. Mine cycles perfectly now.
