Very nice rifles and yes they will fit but some material will have to be removed from the stock .Under the right side of the receiver a 6 1/4 in groove will have to be cut into the stock .And to get the trigger group to lock shut and pass the trigger after assembly test a lot of material will have to be removed under the trigger pads as well.
They are pretty much the same as the last run of shorties - I've had both. Front sight and removable flash hider is cool, that's the only real difference in my opinion. Quality differs rifle to rifle. Receiver looks a bit cleaner, not enough to sway things one way or another for me. In other words, if you're on a budget get a used shorty after checking the main components.
The SOCOM example I have is pretty nice, but not significantly moreso than a good example of the regular M305 shorties [which I also have]. Except for the specific features [front sight and flash hider] I wouldn't prefer one to the other.
